Bound by their legal education and a heritage of advocacy, Yavuz Usaklioglu and Nazli Ekici Usaklioglu continue a family tradition—transforming a legacy of law into a lifetime of impact.
The timeline shows how the firm history developed through successive generations of lawyers, formal legal education, professional licensing, and experience in several legal markets. The founders’ studies in Istanbul and California, followed by their work in different law firms, helped shape a practice designed for clients whose matters cross state or national borders.
U2U Law’s firm history also explains the firm’s emphasis on multilingual communication, technology, business awareness, and coordinated representation. The opening of the Newport Beach headquarters represents another stage in that development. Although the offices, jurisdictions, and practice areas have expanded, the central commitments remain consistent: careful preparation, practical advice, clear communication, and determined advocacy tailored to each client’s circumstances.

1986
Hatice Usaklioglu graduated from the Istanbul University School of Law and embarked on her legal career, paving the way for Yavuz Usaklıoğlu to follow in her footsteps and uphold the same legal legacy.
1988
Sibel Ekici graduated from the School of Law and dedicated her career to justice, inspiring Nazlı Ekici Usaklioglu to continue this legal legacy.
1989
Akin Ekici began his legal career with a vision—rising to lead the Legal Department at Garanti BBVA Bank and representing Bank of America. His legacy laid the foundation, and now Nazlı Ekici Uşaklıoğlu carries it forward, upholding excellence across generations. Nazli's father, Akin Ekici, is the chief legal advisor and executive vice president at DenizBank, one of the largest bank in Turkiye.
2016
Yavuz Usaklioglu and Nazli Ekici Usaklioglu began their legal journey at the same alma mater, carrying forward a family legacy deeply rooted in the law. Inspired by their parents’ footsteps, they have dedicated their lives to upholding justice and excellence in the legal profession.
2020
Yavuz Usaklioglu and Nazli Ekici Usaklioglu completed their school of law. Yavuz bridges law and technology by also graduating from computer engineering as an author, and startup founder.
2021
Nazli Ekici Usaklioglu and Yavuz Usaklioglu became lawyers. Together, they redefine what it means to inherit a passion for justice.
2023
Nazli Ekici Usaklioglu graduated from UCLA, specializing entertainment and law. Yavuz Usaklioglu graduated UC Berkeley School of Law and they continue their legal legacy in different law firms in California. During his masters in law at UC Berkeley, Mr. Usaklioglu wrote his third book.
2024
Nazli Ekici Usaklioglu and Yavuz Usaklioglu also licensed in California and established U2U Law after gaining experience in 7 different law firms.
2025
U2U Law became the premier law firm in California, New York, and Istanbul. The legal legacy is driven by vision.
2026
U2U Law P.C. has expanded into a spacious new headquarters in Newport Beach, California. Located on the ninth floor of the prestigious 5000 Birch Street building, the office offers sweeping panoramic views across six OC cities and reflects the firm’s continued growth and expanding presence in California.
